Math: unit test was written today.
Science: new assignment has launched. Remember, you need to find out if you will be away during the last week of school before the winter break. Handout for the project is here and will also be posted under the science tab. Language Arts: here is the Mrs. Frisby assignment. Question: Is it possible to live a normal life and not ever tell a lie?

Math: Unit Test tomorrow!
Rats of NIMH: We have a new project that will be due on Dec. 18th Art: The "Art on My Mind" Project is coming along nicely. Skits: Students are doing a great job with their movies and I am looking forward to seeing the finished product. Question: Humans often dream about things they cannot physically do. Dogs dream, also. Do you think dogs dream about things they cannot physically do and if they can, what do they dream about? Math: unit test Monday. Make sure you study. No homework.
Science: Remember that the questions 1-9 on the handout from yesterday are due on Tuesday. The video can be found on the Science tab. Design Challenge: Research is due on Monday. All of you should have started this in Office 365 and shared this with me. If you have forgotten the handout, you can download it here. Question: If there existed a perfect clone of you, would it also be you? Would it act in exactly the same manner as you (like a mirror) or would it act differently? If it acted differently then would it still be you? At what point would it not be you? Math: We did a 5 minute drill on multiplying integers which the students did quite well on.
Remember, unit test on Tuesday. Skits: Students are working on video skits for health. Science: we watched a video and students were given an opportunity to take back their previous assignment and incorporate information from the short documentary we watched. Please see the Science Tab for the video. Question: Are there limits to human creativity? Math: Pg 79 8-12
Remember, unit test next Tuesday. Rats: We have now finished the book. If you didn't happen to be in class for the end of the novel, please ensure that you are finishing it up as there will be an assignment that will accompany it soon. Art: The art projects are starting to come along quite nicely and I am looking forward to the finished product. Science: Remember. Your birds questions and graph is due tomorrow. Please ensure that it is printed before the start of class tomorrow! Question: Would selectively breeding an animal such as a dog based on intelligence, increase its intelligence over time? If so, how intelligent could dogs become? If not, how does intelligence emerge in a species? Language Arts: We are nearing the end of the Rats of NYMH. Final assignment to be announced soon.
Math: Pg 79 Q 1-7 is due for tomorrow. There will be a unit test next Tuesday. French: We are working on a unit called " Tout Sur Moi" Science: Students need to have their graph and questions done for Thursday. Question: Does simply knowing something have value or does it need to have a practical use (to help you do something) to have value? Why? Math: We wrote a self-mark quiz today to help students gauge how they are doing with their work on integers. There will be a quiz on Monday to follow this up.
Science: There will be another work period on Tuesday. So, no homework due on Monday. Enjoy a relaxing weekend. Question: Why don’t we as a species take more advantage of the fact that we have almost infinite knowledge available to us? Math: Quiz tomorrow
Journeys: pg 307 Q 1-6 Science: Please see the science tab for details and a digital download of the assignment. This will be due next Thursday. Question: What benefits does art provide society? Math: We continued to develop our understanding of integers today with some old school Math from when me and some of the parents may have been in grade 7. Questions 1-6 on 303 and 1-5 on 305 are due tomorrow.
Art: Reminder that this will be the last week for your shoe are and we also started a new project that will include photos of each student. I am taking suggestions for the name of the project. So far I am thinking "Got My Mind On........" Buddies: It's always great to get together with our buddy class. We did some work with adding. Let's see who can teach some of them about adding a negative number. It will make my life easier in 7 years. Rats: We read another chapter of the novel and are getting close to the end. There will be a final project that will accompany the novel that I will probably present next week. Question: If you could teach everyone in the world one concept, what concept would have the biggest positive impact on humanity? Why? Language Arts: parts 17 & 18 are due for tomorrow.
Math: Pg 69 Q. 7, 9 & 13 are due for tomorrow. Art: Your shoes are due at the end of the week. Make sure you have them done and your name is on them with masking tape before you hand them in. Science: we looked at the graph and answers that were handed in. I look forward to our experiment on Thursday. Question: Does a person’s name influence the person they become? |
